Philadelphia-based Nothing are proud to announce their signing to Relapse Records via whom the band will release their debut LP, Guilty Of Everything, in 2014. To celebrate the signing and their current tour with Whirr, Nothing is pleased to share the single "Dig". Please scroll down to view their upcoming tour dates. Speaking on their signing to Relapse Records, the band says "We are very excited to work with Relapse, will be rad to see our music reach a much wider audience."
Nothing was formed in 2011 by Domenic Palermo. Previously Palermo was the brains behind the early 2000's hardcore/punk act Horror Show. in 2002 Horror Show was put on hold after Palermo was incarcerated for a stabbing that eventually led to a 2 year prison sentence. Upon his return Palermo would take a lengthy hiatus from music. In 2011 Palermo released a demo tape titled "Poshlost" under the moniker Nothing.
After several attempts at constructing a solid lineup for the band Palermo met Brandon Setta. Setta would bring a lush, rich soundscape and a fresh approach to Palermo's vision for Nothing. Setta and Palermo would handle the writing for the next release, a very rare 12" EP that was released on Japanese boutique label Big Love Records called Suns And Lovers(A play off of the D.H. Lawernce book). It was limited to 300 copies and the bands share was donated back to the label for a Tsunami Relief Charity. The next release, Downward Years To Come was a 5 song EP and was recorded at the Rubber Tracks Studio in Brooklyn with Kyle "Slick" Johnson. The record was released by Baltimore Label A389 Records in November 2012. Written by Palermo and Setta, the concept behind Downward Years To Come was a dedication to several different poets who had taken their own lives. Setta and Palermo would again head into the studio, this time with Jeff Zeigler at Uniform Recordings to write their debut LP, Guilty Of Everything and sign with Relapse Records.

Nuclear Blast Records released a new video from FleshGod Apocalyspe!
South Side Chicago Metal Band As KING lands in our Artist Spotlight.
Heavy, Intense, simplistically groovy, while technically sound. A tight group where each member brings it with there own style. Experienced and Talented with a strong following and support.
This explains our spotlight artist - As KING. Another band I learned about via Project independent is making some noise in the music industry lately. As King as already garnered air time regularly on local radio stations such as 105.5 The Kat, 88.9 FM, Rebel Radio, with reviews in local and national entertainment magazines. As King has also gained air time internationally on radio and internet radio stations throughout the U.S. Europe, and the U.K. Their experience in the local scene has allowed them to open for such bands as Soil, No One, Straight Line Stitch. Slaves On Dope, and Kill Devil Hill, Dirge Within .
What I like about this band is it has a unique blend of musical styles and offers an intense and active live show. When asked about their sound the band replies "We're a mix between Machine Head, Mudvayne, and Meshuggah with Lamb of God style vocals and a trippy Pink Floyd essence.Killer stage presence to top it off. We've been through the trials and tribulations of our failed marriages that we called our old bands and want to take the scene by storm with our own breed of metal. Were not the fastest, nor are we the heaviest, because that's not what we want to be. What we are is groovy, catchy, and powerful, simplistic yet technical at the same time melodic while brutal and in your face."
After a bit of thought it seems to fit. The band is currently unsigned and working with From The Depths Entertainment. They have a self released and self titled EP out currently.

As for the band name, well here is how they explain it: "Asking, to ask a question is to be As a King the question ire, to be As a King on a never ending quest for knowledge."
